Online Notary vs Mobile Notary
Mobile notaries often require advance scheduling – signers contact an agency, coordinate...
An electronic/online notarization is a notarization completed online with a certified notary public. At Online Notary Center, you’ll be connected with a notary through your computer’s webcam, and then both of you can complete notarization online with electronic signatures and stamps.
Online notaries work just like physical notaries. You’ll be asked to verify your identity with a government ID, you’ll meet face-to-face with a notary, and then your notary will sign and stamp your document. Everything you do in-person, you can also do electronically – right from home on your computer!
Since their invention, online notarizations have also become safer than in-person notarizations. Not only do we use advanced fraud protection and knowledge-based authentication; we also keep a full audit trail of the session’s activities. That way, you can be confident in the security and legality of your documents.
Even though online notaries are similar to in-person notaries, it can still feel daunting doing an online notarization for the first time. Don’t worry – we’re here to guide you.
Before you begin, make sure you have a webcam on your device and a government-issued photo ID (like a driver’s license or passport). You’ll also need your document saved in PDF format on your device. Once you have those, you’re ready to start
